Next Krim book on its way

It only took ten years for me to get my first book done, Krim Times.

The second one just took eight months!

The final draft is attached, for anyone to download for free, before I post it on Amazon and they make me charge for it.

Thank you to all my beta readers who helped make it possible! If you would like to be a beta reader on the next book in the series, “Dressed for Krim,” email me at maria@hypergridbusiness.com. Beta readers get advanced copies of the books, plus a chance to point out plot holes and boring parts. If you ever wished you could complain to authors and have them actually change the book — this is your chance. 🙂

As part of the process, I’ve also dropped the idea of using a pseudonym. I’m not playing around with being a science fiction writer. I’m doing it for real. As my real job.

Meanwhile, I could use your help.

I hired some cover designers to make some draft covers, and also took a stab at it with GiMP myself, as well. I’m finally using all the skills I developed editing textures for OpenSim.

I’m trying to combine the idea of future technology, and a medieval-themed world. Unfortunately, the sites that sell those professional ready-to-go book covers offer either sci-fi covers or fantasy covers, not a weird mishmash of the two. So I had to turn to custom designs.

I’m trying to make it clear from the cover that this is a book for people who like science fiction and fantasy. But I also want it to look like a real book cover, one worth spending 99 cents for — or worth downloading for free for Amazon Prime members.

Please let me know which one you like best in the comments, or if you have any other suggestions. Also, feel free to suggest names of characters and places, but do keep in mind that at some point in the future, they might meet grisly deaths or turn out to be the killer all along, or the places might be the locations of bloody massacres. You never know!
