Lindenhurst Board Acts To Limit Leaf Burning

The Lindenhurst Village Board, embroiled in a controversy over burning leaves and the related health risks, is taking the middle road.

The board opted Monday night to continue to allow leaf burning, but with restrictions.

The exact wording of the ordinance to restrict burning will be discussed Monday and voted into law Sept. 23, said acting Mayor James Betustak. It will go into effect by October.
